Not quite Romeo and Juliet...

This film is exactly as it says in the beginning. A story of boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. But the twist is Girl doesn't like boy. This I believe is the only originality, if that, in the whole film. The story is told from the boy's perspective which admittedly is refreshing but still highly predictable. The boy just replaces the girl because the perspective is the same. Boy doesn't know how to function without girl. Boy loses himself then finds himself. This over done style of romantic comedies makes it harder for willing viewers to look forward to these types of film these days. It sets it self up to be stand apart from other mainstream romantic comedies but what it does in the end is show itself up by being "just another romantic comedy" after the novelty wears off- half way through the film.

However it has a very impressive soundtrack which will give the viewer good reason to wan to get excited about films in general again.

Unfortunately, it falls into the category of one of those films you can only watch once  in order to preserve its goodness and your willingness stay in love with it. It is no 'Pretty woman',  a timeless classic that delivers the same emotional impact after the 50th re-run. (on the same day)

I exaggerate for effect. but its true. 'Pretty woman' does stands alone from many classic romantic films, even to this day. Just ask any woman you know...
